Fun Day at the Park

Today Gracie and I went to the park. You might ask, was it a perfect day for the park? Of course not, as a matter of fact, it was a very overcast, gloomy, damp day sprinkling off and on. But it was a day I had planned for several weeks and I was determined Gracie and I would have our day in the park and that day was today! I'm glad we went through with our plans, because in addition to Gracie and me having a grand ole time in the park, we also managed to capture a very funny story to share with you here.
Now please, keep in mind as you are reading this blog entry, for 2 days there have been flash flood warnings in Bowling Green.
When we first arrived at the park I happen to notice there was only one other person there. It probably had something to do with the bright, orange, caution tape that was strung around cones surrounding certain areas of the park that were under water. So this other person was eating his lunch at a table just across the lake from where Gracie and I were going to play. We got out of my truck and I reached for a couple of the towels that were in my back seat, which I had brought to dry the water off of the playground equipment. (I assumed the equipment would be wet with all of the rain and I didn't want that to stop us from our day in the park.) Without a thought, I immediately went to work, drying the playground equipment. I noticed the person who was eating his lunch began to make his way toward us. As he approached me he said, "You have a beautiful grand baby." I said, thanks and then my curiosity got the best of me and I had to ask, "How did you know this was my grand baby?" He replied, "A mother would have told her child...we can not go to the park today, because it has been raining, but on the other hand a grandmother would bring towels with her and dry the playground equipment so that the grandchild could play in spite of the rain!"
You know what? I think he was right! While I think these pictures are great, I'm sure the best pictures would have been if someone had been taking pictures of me, while I was drying the playground equipment.
